CURRICULUM VITAE
In 2020, after three years of apprenticeship and three years as a ballet dancer with the Royal Danish Ballet, she left the company to co-found the art collective spraengdanseteater.dk alongside six other artists.The group’s intention is to challenge genre boundaries within the performing arts and to make dance and stage art accessible to a broader audience. The collective has performed at ex. Roskilde Festival, Ungdommens Folkemøde and Alive Festival, and has collaborated with ex. UngKlang Vocal Ensemble, Mary Fonden, Kind mod Kind and Storstrøm Orchestra.
Sarah Olivia Klitgaard (she/her/they, b. 1998) is a Copenhagen based dance artist working as both a choreographer and performer.
Coming from a strong foundation in ballet, a desire to expand her versatility has led Sarah to seek out inspiring workshops and courses across a wide range of dance, performance styles, and choreographic practices, including B12researchordie, Camping at Le_CND, KBH Danser Studios, Dansehallerne among others.
In January 2025, Enzo Hacquin, Madee Cole and Sarah founded Cadavre Exquis Collective, with the mission to investigate a method of co-creation inspired by the surrealist practice of the same name. The result of a year-long research process using this method will be presented on the 19 + 20th of March 2026 at Basement, Copenhagen, DK.
Sarah is interested in hybrid-genres, melting dance with, for example, song, theater, installation, visuel arts. This leading to many exciting interdisciplinary collaborations.
She often finds herself portraying relations and intimacy, and playing with a fine line of solemn aesthetics vs. silliness.
